2012 RACE SCHEDULE: THE AMA NATIONAL SCHEDULE IS STILL MISSING (AMID RUMORS THAT PALA WILL BE MISSING FROM IT ALSO)
Make you plans—Ponca, Loretta, World Vet, Endurocross, World Championships, WORCS, Sidecar, Arenacross, MXDN & more

Don’t make any plans without checking the websites, calling the phone numbers and sending out scouts—race series change with some regularity (remember the AMA Supermoto series...it canceled more races on its schedule that it actually held...and now it’s gone).

As for the AMA 250/450 National Motocross schedule, MX Sports announced last week that "the 2012 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship schedule will be released next week. It will be tentative, as far as the last two rounds on the schedule go." The new date for the release of the incomplete 2012 schedule is now Monday, November 28. Of course, the last two rounds, as of late, have been Steel City and Pala. With MX Sports looking for a track in the south, which they would most likely slot into the Steel City date (which would give any selected track until September to get ready), and Steel City and Mt. Morris being too close to each other for a true "National" series—it is hoped that the Nationals can return to the south to service a market that hasn't seen much action. As for the final date of the year at Pala Raceway in SoCal there seems to be some doubt about its life expectancy on the National schedule. According to reliable sources, the honeymoon period is over between MX Sports and Pala management. It is assumed that the last round of the AMA Nationals must be in SoCal (and, no matter what, one round must be in SoCal) to make the manufacturers and teams happy. But, where? MX Sports has not official said that Pala is out, but the vibe between the two parties isn't particularly pleasant.
